Solvay volunteers trained more than 150 underprivileged teenage girls in Thailand on the basics of chemistry and soap making.
Located in Nonthaburi Province, the Kredtrakarn Protection and Occupational Development Center is a government rehabilitation center for young women with various social challenges. The teenage girls are provided occupational services to help unveil new opportunities to capture upon their release.
The “Scientific Education” sessions provided by Solvay colleagues are more than basic science lessons. The young women are also guided on how to pursue soap production as a career. To that end, Solvay has also invited a professional soap designer from the Thai Soap Academy to advise on the soap market, price setting, product registration at the  Food and Drug Administration of Thailand and more.
Beyond this, Solvay group in Thailand, through the Siam Solvay Foundation, also supports with donations of food and beverages, electric fans and nursing.
