Almost 200 volunteers from Solvay in Rayong and Bangkok sites have joined the world cleaning day recently. The clean-up, normally conducted annually, as part of an initiative to raise awareness of cleaning the beaches and coasts of Rayong and to improve the waste management system in Bangkok.
A Total trashes by more than 100,000 pieces which by almost 10 ton were collected in 2017 International Coastal Cleanup after 3 hours of cleaning which clean Mae Ram Phung beach from Lan Hin Khao to Kon Ao beach which is approximately 8 kilometers and Nam Rin beach to Pa yoon beach which is approximately 3.5 kilometers. Solvay Employee based Rayong site has collaborated Maptaphut Industrial Estate , Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand, along with other companies in Industrial Estates.
A total of 132 kilogrammes of solid waste or more than 7,000 pieces were collected from some part of Chao Phraya River and the nearby area after just one hour of cleaning in an effort initiated by private and government organisations. Cleaning was conducted along a 6 km stretch of the river, from Rama III Bridge to Yodpiman Flower Market. Solvay Employee based Bangkok site cooperated with The Siam Hotel and United Nation Environment Program to clean up along the riverside and canals in Dusit district.
These two provinces are very famous tourist attraction and business centers. Moreover, they are “Home” for everyone including Solvay Employee.
